On arrival in Africa, there will be a totally marked difference in the weather from that of England/Europe/America. Temperatures are rarely below 30 degrees Celsius and conditions can be hot and dry. Sometimes, there will be a light shower and at other times a torrential downpour. It will be necessary to drink plenty of water and keep the body hydrated, don a hat, apply sunscreen and gravitate towards the shade until your body becomes acclimatised.
It is a good idea to pack a long sleeved top and long pants to keep yourself warm during cooler evenings and also to protect yourself from insects.
